Mary’s Garden Balm: MosOff Recipe
It started with a mint garden… and a swarm of party-crashing mosquitoes.
One sunny afternoon, I was out pulling weeds in my garden when the mosquitoes decided I was the main
course. Rather than reaching for store-bought sprays, I listened to nature—and my skin—and created a
remedy I now call MosOff: Mary’s Garden Balm.
This soothing balm is packed with ingredients known to nourish, calm, and protect your skin—all straight
from the garden and essential oil shelf. It’s not for sale. Just a heartfelt gift from my hands to yours.
Ingredients:
1 tbsp coconut oil (healing + anti-inflammatory)
– 1 tbsp jojoba oil (non-greasy + skin balancing)
– 3 drops tea tree essential oil (antibacterial + cleansing)
– 3 drops lavender essential oil (itch-relief + calming)
– Optional: 1 tsp fresh crushed mint (cooling & herbal aroma)
How to Make It:
1. Gently warm the coconut oil until soft but not hot.
2. Stir in the jojoba oil, tea tree, and lavender essential oils.
3. If using mint, crush it lightly and stir in—let it steep for a few minutes.
4. Pour into a small jar or tin and store in a cool place.
Use as needed on bug bites or as a gentle balm before heading outdoors.
Coconut oil is rich in skin-healing properties, while jojoba brings balance and softness. Tea tree and
lavender provide antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory support, and mint delivers that refreshing aaaahhh
sensation. Together, they create a balm that not only soothes itchy bites but also helps keep bugs at bay.
This is more than a recipe—it’s a little piece of my peace.
I believe we all carry nature’s wisdom inside us, and the more we return to the earth for healing, the more
we rediscover our own vitality. Let me know if you make it, and feel free to share it with someone who
needs a little herbal hug.
With love and lavender,
Mary
